The Maori Affairs Select Committee has reported back on the Mauao Historic Reserve Vesting Bill.

The Bill, when passed, would give effect to an agreement between the Crown and Maori to vest the fee simple estate of Mauao historic reserve in the trustees of the Mauao trust, to hold on behalf of Ngāi Te Rangi, Ngāti Ranginui, and Ngāti Pukenga. The bill also provides that Mauao historic reserve would be subject to the Reserves Act 1977.
